Evelin Facchini is an Italian choreographer, director and performer based in Berlin.
Working across theatre, opera, dance and contemporary performance, she develops choreography as a dramaturgical language, exploring the expressive and political potential of bodies, voices and collective presence.

After graduating from the Ballet School of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and continuing her studies in Canada, she founded Metalouda, an artistic platform through which she develops her own choreographic research. Her early works received recognition in Italy, including the Prize at the International Dance Competition “Città di Rieti” (2009) for the choreography In-Certezze.

Since 2011 she has collaborated extensively with Romeo Castellucci as choreographer and performer, contributing to internationally acclaimed productions including Requiem, Daphne, Democracy in America and other creations presented at leading international theatres and festivals.

Alongside this long-term collaboration, she has worked with artists including Clément Cogitore, Marta Górnicka, Oliver Frljić and David Stöhr, creating choreography for productions presented by institutions and festivals such as Festival d’Avignon, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Salzburg Festspiele, Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Dramaten, Maxim Gorki Theater, Epidaurus Festival, La Monnaie and numerous international venues.

In 2024, Evelin Facchini received the Best Choreography Award at the Boska Komedia International Theatre Festival for Mothers–A Song for Wartime.
The award recognises her distinctive choreographic language and her ability to expand the role of movement as a dramaturgical force within contemporary theatre, affirming the expressive power and originality of her artistic vision.

Her work combines choreographic precision with a strong dramaturgical approach, moving fluidly between opera, spoken theatre, dance and performance. Her choreography becomes an integral compositional force that shapes space, rhythm and the relationship between performers and audiences.

Alongside her creative work, Evelin Facchini regularly leads workshops and masterclasses, sharing a practice centred on listening, composition and the transformative potential of the body.

Across all her projects, she pursues a choreographic language that brings together physical rigor, visual imagination and collective experience.
