Evelin Facchini is an Italian choreographer, director and performer based in Berlin.
Working across theatre, opera, dance and contemporary performance, she develops choreography as a dramaturgical language, exploring the expressive and political potential of bodies, voices and collective presence.

After graduating from the Ballet School of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and pursuing further studies in Canada, she founded Metalouda, an artistic platform through which she has developed her independent choreographic research and created her own works.

Since 2011, she has collaborated extensively with Romeo Castellucci as choreographer and performer, contributing to internationally acclaimed productions including Requiem, Daphne, Democracy in America and other works presented at leading theatres and festivals worldwide.

Alongside her work with Castellucci, she has collaborated with artists including Clément Cogitore, Marta Górnicka, Oliver Frljić, David Stöhr, developing choreographic languages in close dialogue with different theatrical, musical and performative practices.
Her work has been presented by leading international institutions and festivals including the Festival d’Avignon, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Salzburg Festival, Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Dramaten, Maxim Gorki Theater, Epidaurus Festival, La Monnaie and Opéra-Comique.

In 2024, Evelin Facchini received the Best Choreography Award at the Boska Komedia International Theatre Festival for Mothers – A Song for Wartime. The award recognised her distinctive choreographic language and her ability to expand the role of movement as a dramaturgical force within contemporary theatre, affirming the expressive power and originality of her artistic vision.

More recently, she created the choreography for Zaide oder Der Weg des Lichts, which premiered at the Salzburg Festival in 2025. The production was awarded Best Overall Opera Production at the 2026 Austrian Music Theatre Prize and was subsequently presented by the Opéra-Comique in Paris.

Throughout her work, Evelin Facchini explores the ways in which bodies can shape and transform the space of performance. Through movement, rhythm and collective presence, she creates choreographic structures that emerge in close dialogue with the music, dramaturgy and visual world of each project.

Alongside her creative work, she regularly leads workshops and masterclasses, sharing an approach grounded in listening, composition and an ongoing investigation of the body as a space of relation and transformation.
