Evelin Facchini is a freelance choreographer, director, and dancer, born in Rome and based in Berlin. She works internationally across dance, theatre, and opera. She graduated from the ballet school of the Rome Opera House and furthered her studies in Canada.

Since 2011, she has collaborated with Romeo Castellucci as both choreographer and performer, notably creating the choreography for REQUIEM, which premiered at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence in 2019, and for DAPHNE, premiered in 2023 at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin.

In 2022, invited by Marta Górnicka, she participated as a guest choreographer in the research project Political Voice Institute at the Maxim Gorki Theatre in Berlin. The performance MOTHERS – A Song for Wartime premiered in Warsaw in September 2023, was later presented at the 78th Festival d’Avignon, and is currently touring internationally. In December 2024, she was awarded BEST CHOREOGRAPHY for this work at the 17th Boska Komedia Theatre Festival in Krakow.

In 2024, collaboration began with Oliver Frljić at the Maxim Gorki Theatre, where she choreographed his productions ALICE IM WUNDERLAND, PROZESS, and FRANKENSTEIN.

Alongside these collaborations, she founded Metalouda, a choreographic research project exploring compositional practices through installations, short films, and performances. Within this framework, WRY/Second layer – Anatomy of Deception was directed and choreographed by her, premiering in March 2023 at Heizhaus-Uferstudios in Berlin.

Her practice explores the intersection of movement, voice, and visual composition, grounding the body and voice as political agents. Through both collaborative productions and autonomous choreographic research, she investigates spatial and performative tensions as tools for critical reflection and transformation.

She leads educational projects and workshops for students and professionals in the fields of movement research and choreographic composition.
From 2011 to 2018, she directed the Theatre Dance Division studio in Rome.
